Skateboarding Open Nationals 2026

BhopalSB travelled to Chandigarh for the Skateboarding Open Nationals 2026, taking two riders from very different stages of their skateboarding journeys to the national competition.

Ibrahim, aged 6, and Aditya Namdev, aged 16, represented Bhopal and Madhya Pradesh at the event, competing in both Street and Park disciplines. They were accompanied by Shashank, who travelled as their coach and supported the riders throughout the competition.

For Ibrahim, at just six years old, competing at a national event represents an early start to what can become a long journey in skateboarding. For Aditya, the event was another opportunity to test his skating against riders from across the country and gain experience on a larger competitive stage.

The trip represents an important part of the pathway BhopalSB is trying to build — creating opportunities for local riders to move from grassroots sessions and community events into state and national-level competition.

From beginners learning their first push at BhopalSB workshops to young riders representing the city hundreds of kilometres away, the goal remains the same: make skateboarding accessible, build a stronger local scene and give riders a path to keep progressing.
