The Story

Junglee Camp Day 1 started with fourteen kids who'd never stood on a skateboard. By the end of the three-hour session, twelve of them were pushing independently. That's the entire goal distilled into a single afternoon.

The setup was intentional in its simplicity: a residential parking lot, six loaned boards from the community's hardware equity fund, three coaches, and a strict no-spectator-chaos rule that kept the space focused.

A parking lot, six boards, fourteen kids. That's all community infrastructure needs to look like.

Every child arrived with a helmet. That isn't an accident — it's a structured intake step. Parents signed a simple safety brief, coaches ran a fit check, and no one rolled without gear in place. No exceptions.

The camp runs exclusively on foundational technique: balance, foot placement, pushing, turning, stopping. No tricks, no jam element. The point is to get a child comfortable on concrete — everything else comes later.
